If you had to pay $53 million for someone's inability to do his job...
...wouldn't you want to get that amount reduced?
If you don't want to pay, then don't sign a contract that says you will.....
doing so is pretty stupid. Trying to get out of it is criminal.

Mac Brown on the SEC Network this morning said his buyout at NC was 2 milly.
I hope I heard that correctly. He said he doesn't believe in getting huge amounts of cabbage for not working, though 2 mil is a heck of a lot to most Americans.
He might not realize it but it, most Americans would think his comment sounds out of touch.
I get a contract is a contract but most people don’t get anything when they get fired. And they don’t deserve it either
