I hate rooting for Texas

But we must today.

The same goes for SC.

These results will help ND vis-a-vis a playoff birth:

Texas over Vanderbilt
Miami over SMU
Navy over North Texas
Cal over UVA
Oklahoma over Tennessee
SC over Nebraska
NC State over GT

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame
Invincibility with no vulnerability

My son is at Texas game. He’s said many times the crowd there is hardly ever really into it. Not

It’s OK you don’t have to root for Texas. Vandy versus Texas is more or less a wash, as is Oklahoma versus Tennessee. All SEC teams that can finish the season with two losses or fewer at this point will be ahead of us, so we just want to maximize how many end up with three.

Texas has 2 upcoming losses: UGA & A&M.

Not sure Vandy does.

Not real obvious why it’s a “wash?”

Because Texas taking a 3rd loss now but then winning those is a good result, while it’s unclear whether Vandy has another loss ahead of them. Actually probably best for us Vandy wins out versus them losing to Texas, and us left hoping they lose to, what, Tennessee? And who gives Tennessee their third loss?

On the whole I settle on this outcome being a wash.

I have a feeling that Miami is going to lose to SMU, however N.C, State can beat Georgia Tech.

And I think if we win out, we will still get in. Pitt may turn out to be a good win.

It’s a far cry from a certainty that winning out does it for us

11 teams in front of us don’t have real tough schedules in the last 5 Saturdays… and there’s even teams behind us (like Tennessee) who could jump us since they have tough schedules coming up
