Hated the Steelers. Biased beyond belief. But had longevity.
God rest his soul.

though I never met him. He was two years my senior and was an Illinois All-State selection in both basketball and football. I followed him from a distance as he set records at Springfield HS as a basketball player as well as winning the state long jump title. He achieved more notoriety as a tight end for the Bengals and made the Pro Bowl twice. A long career as a color commentator followed.

Rest In peace old boy....you are well remembered

In fact, I always enjoyed the NBS broadcasts of AFC games more than the announcers on CBS for NFC games.
