Really don't think players should be saying things like this. It can be a sign of weakness to Navy

and give them more confidence that their opponent is not ready, or will struggle to stop them. Better to keep that inside and maybe express it after the WIN.

I'd rather he say that, than say "Their offense is crap. We will dominate them."

Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it tries to silence good.

Well, if the choice is between the two options.. you win. But maybe just a "it will be a challenge"

facing an option offense would be a better "option".

sounds like a trojan horse comment to me.

We've crushed them the past few years. I'd rather him respect them then hint at mismatch

Every ND fan should know by now that beating Navy on the gridiron is not easy....and underrating them is suicide. His remark shows respect and a focus on what is important. Navy football is the epitome of why our armed forces are the world's best.

When I served in the army, there were signs everywhere that said "zero defects". Niumatalolo drilled into his charges that they could beat any ND team if they played without turnovers or penalties, simply competence in knowing how to play football....zero defects if you will. That is their goal, and when they achieve that goal, every game against the Irish is tense and close.

I expect another such day on Sat. We all should. That is reality. The discrepancy in skill and talent vanishes when the team with the lesser plays without defects. ND did not do that in Boston. They must not do that again. A lot has to do with the decision of every ND player to bring focus and effort and zero defects.

This favors the Middies, who are oblivious to discomfort.

What nasty weather? One minutes it’s too hot, one minute it’s too cold…do we have a bunch of pansies on the team?

There will plenty of flakes in the stands. Weather could slow down Navy offense.

one can tell the triple option is more of a novelty these days. Growing up, I probably played again

st the triple option 80% of the time, the remaining 20% was I or Single Wing. T

here is a reason why so many teams went away from it. It's fun to watch when run correctly, but it's also easy to defend if you see it every week, like I did my entire HS career. It's hard for me to wrap my head around the challenges everyone has defending it, but I suppose it's like the 70's when the wishbone was introduced. No one saw it, so they didn't know how to defend it.

I was unfortunate in playing WR in a triple option offense in HS.

Goes without saying passing to a WR is not one of the options. This was way back in the stone age times 1970/1971.
