I'm going to have to see some pretty interesting facts to justify (a) now claiming Kelly was not fired, and (b) now claiming his future firing is for cause. Looks like a sad attempt to get out of their own financial choices. I hope Kelly makes a full recovery, and whomever takes the job next might want to think about the way they will be treated on exit.

I am 100% certain that Kelly is prepared with the proper lawyers to deal with this.

a "sex party" involving player(s), coach (not BK), recruiting staff. Also, a possible affair between BK and his realtor around the time he filed for divorce (which he subsequently withdrew). As I said, there are RUMORS. But, I'm sure LSU is investigating as possible means to terminate with cause.

They got him dancing with a 3-star that went to 'Bama...
I have no horse in this race.
The way I see it, either way, Brian Kelly still walks away many millions of dollars richer, no matter what happens. It's not as if he's poor and destitute, especially after all of those years we paid him.
LSU may be able to save a few dollars in the process.
Let the cards fall where they may.

Clearly an attempt to pull him to the negotiating table, but this is just dumb.
Fired for cause? For not agreeing with an AD who left?
If Kelly gets his buyout PLUS a defamation sum he will
draw attention to the ass clowns running LSU
It will also be less attractive to elite coaches and players.
It’s about as boneheaded as hiring Kelly in the first place.

Good luck finding a top coach going forward.
