If the season ended today, Miami would be the 11th seed.

The big question is...

if MIami wins out decisively and the ACC title game, will they be slotted ahead of ND and possibly bump the Irish out of the playoffs? That could happen if the Irish play a sloppy game in the next three. MIami has talent but do not seem to pull together when the chips are down with the determination to win like we are seeing from the Hoosiers. That can all change in a heartbeat....or not. For sure, an interesting month of football is in store.

Coach has tried to make Beck the "Hero" in 3 games, if Shuler plays the ball it backfires in ALL 3

you non-athletes state, "Schuler fucked up, that ball was uncatchable, he should have let it fly over everyone"...
you can not have your cake and still eat it...

Of Course ESPN asked this about Miami and his response (paraphrased) was head to head is important but others factors are taken into account. The margin of loss, when it occurred, overall SOS and he stated ND’s defense is playing much stronger now then in the beginning of the year. Whether this criteria remains consistent we will see.

Tough debate. U know head to head should count but their 2nd loss is to a not very good team

And it is almost 2.5 months since we played. But in the nfl head to head is tie breaker.

Head to head didn’t matter in 1993. I’m not going to apologize

head to head is a viable tie-breaker for straight record in the NFL (and within a conference) where there is low variability in strength of schedule. Where the variability is much higher, head to head shouldn't overcome strength of schedule (FPI-SOS 9 places), strength of record (FPI-SOR 3 places) , FPI (8 places) and resume (colley 7 places).

While I agree it’s hard to argue we beat you so that breaks a tie

We would be very upset if we beat someone with same record and they got in before us regardless of what the analytics said
