I love Gruden almost as much as Lou Holtz. I love listening to him! (Didn't like his prediction, however.)

There is one stat that I can’t stand that guys like this use consistently and that’s passing defense. Trying to make the claim that these two pass defenses are the same is dumb because raw yardage is a terrible metric. Next is rating an offense based on yardage per game. Passing efficiency is much more important and ND ranks 24th and Pitt 71. And that’s not taking into account that this defense looks completely different since 1st half of Purdue

Comes down to who wins on defense and QB. Pretty evenly matched....but ND seems to have some edge in talent. How each team performs that day compared to expectations ALWAYS seems to defy predictions though. ND opponents always step up their play against the Irish, but the Irish have more on the line. Playing at Pitt makes this game a tossup if their frosh QB can keep his decision making level high.
One would expect lots of passing and defensive pressure on QB....but we see that go out the window when the lights go on too often.
My focus is always on penalties and turnovers which the Irish took to heart last week....it's all about competency.
Huge game for Irish....Erin Go Bragh!!!
