Sorry guys but I disagree. It was our job to stop that last play but they all just stood around.
How far did the WR go before there was an Irish defender even in the picture? It's not Nard's job to protect the score. It's our job to prevent them from scoring. Where the hell was Ash? You're D played lights out then they let this happen. I think it was that really disappointing effort plus the failed 4th and inches debacle that had MF wired. Just my opinion.

I believe Nard bares no responsibility for running one more play and scoring. You want to get back at him? Tackle the damn guy anywhere before the goal line. It was meaningless to Irish fans but they don't speak for the Pitt players. Again, I'm in the minority here but it's just my opinion. MF said himself he will address what happened on that play after he looks at film.

Nothing wrong with playing to the whistle as long as the clock is running.
Run your offense. Try to score but you don't call a timeout with 5 seconds left and you're losing by 28 points. At that point let the clock run out and head to the locker room. That is, of course, unless you have a play in your playbook that will get you 28 points. Then, have at it. It was bush league. Same as if we had the ball at their one yard line and called a timeout just to try and score another TD. No one would ever do it.
Whatever, teams should never take a knee then. Play to the final whistle, right?
