Do you want USC in the playoffs?

It’s a very real possibility if they beat Oregon.

I think if USC earns their way in it makes us a "LOCK", and..

if they have to play anywhere cold, which is likely since they'd travel somewhere in first round, they are unlikely to advance

Now if they luck out and get nice weather first one game, they could be a dangerous team in the playoffs

ND would be ranked ahead of them, so yes. An Oregon loss is good for ND

beat them consistently now. I dislike them only when they play us or need to lose to help us.

I get it, I just hate USC. Moving from 10 to 9 isn’t worth it to me to see them happy

The issue is bigger than that one ranking spot.

I do think we are in if we win out but that fewer reasons the committee has to leave us out the better and we have no friends in the room.

The way things sit, despite Herbie, the human windsock, protestations, we are on the bubble with plenty of plausible reasons for the committee to exclude us. The first of these are the lack of "quality" wins especially with the likely emphasis the committee will put on quality wins as a standard reaction to last year. We want Miami, USC, A&M and Navy in to beef up our chances

It is pretty much a done deal that, at a minimum, that SEC is going to get 4 teams, the Big 10 will get 3, Big 12 1, ACC 1 and Group of 5 1. It is entirely plausible that SEC gets 5. It doesn't take much to see the Big 12 getting 2, or perhaps the Big 10 getting 4. Anything that can upset the current projections doesn't play well for ND given our relative lack of quality wins. With only 2 slots open, the better our opponents look the better our chances. It is hard to envision us being left out if at least 2 of the following teams are in: Miami, USC, A&M and Navy in.

if USC fans are happy or sad. I am all for the success of this talented ND team who had their rug pulled out from under them by the coaching staff to start the season. These kids were all in from the start but chained up for a couple of games before getting their talent turned loose. If a USC win helps them out...good on ya mate and a tip of the hat in respect to USC for helping the Irish.

That said, any disrespectful treatment of Cheatigan is always justified as their athletic dept. had been a collection of the most vile sewer rats for the past 125 years.
