If OK loses another game or USC beats Oregon

Our best hope is AL loses to AUB or in SECCG, and OK loses to MO and/or LSU.
We also need TT to beat BYU in the B12 CG.

This year will be no different. At least one - and likely more - team that no one expects will lose.

It's why college football is so great.

Their remaining schedule is hot garbage.
I have no idea how far apart ND and Alabama are from the committee's perspective. If they are close (which I think they are), then the eye test for the last two games matters. If ND struggles and Alabama routs both teams, it wouldn't be surprising to see Alabama jump ND.
I am sure Auburn would destroy Syracuse and Stanford
Let’s just hope we do too.

Please don’t pretend we play a tougher remaining schedule. It’s not a good look.

this narrative has more weight than the head-to-head at the beginning of the year. ND cannot be ignored as a "paper tiger with a week schedule", when it defeated Georgia, Indiana, Penn State, and made it a game against OSU LAST YEAR. And ND has a better offense at this point in the year vs. last year.
I think the committee recognizes those facts.

OSU is #1 because they are the defending champs. (LAST YEAR) (Every SEC team would argue that OSU would have multiple loses if they were in the SEC.)
Indiana has been ranked above SEC teams all year because last year they showed they were for real. (LAST YEAR)
ND has basically the same team back from an impressive playoff run and it has been reflected in their ranking this year. The highest ranked 2 lose team for most of the year. I would argue, because of how well they performed in the playoffs LAST YEAR.
I think LAST YEAR has played a big part if the IRISH rankings this year.
But carry on…
the stronger program as well, as they were in a similar position last fall and made it to the title game. Nice to see a national talking head have it on straight."
FULL QUOTE:
"After having some time to think about what had happened, Colin Cowherd came to the conclusion that it’s not just looking at head-to-head matchups, its about timing, and what have you done for me lately. The Irish have a much better recent resume, as they’ve improved over the course of the season, while Miami is one again stumbling to the finish line. The Hurricanes did the same thing last year, jumping out to an impressive record and ranking only to falter at the end of the regular season and miss the playoff. It hard to argue the committee viewing Notre Dame as the stronger program as well, as they were in a similar position last fall and made it to the title game. Nice to see a national talking head have it on straight."
