I know we just want to make it in but we are in, so set that aside. I don’t mind playing a tough 1st game on the road if it means we get a game in the 2nd round against someone not named OSU or Georgia. I don’t mind playing either but having to play them early on in the CFP isn’t worth it, let it be the championship again. Would love to get Texas A&M or Indiana in that 2nd round at a neutral sight, I think it gives the IRISH the best chance to run the table. At our current rating we would need to beat Oklahoma, OSU and Georgia to just get to the championship game.
Call me crazy but I would most like to have a home game and host Miami in the opposite bracket from A&M
Seven seed has all the advantages of a 10 seed plus having a first-round home game.
SC has to show they can win a meaningful road game, but if they do, suddenly we have a 10-point win over a playoff team and all the squawking heads can have crow for Thanksgiving.
Will Oklahoma have a hangover from beating Bama? The Sooners' D is great but their offense is woeful. Mizzou starts a third string, true frosh QB, but they have a good running game and a solid D. They could hang around and pull off a stunner in Norman, especially because I think Drinkwitz is a far superior head coach to Venables.
Wouldn't it be great to launch a second playoff run by tormenting SC again?

Ultimately a home game in South Bend in December is an advantage. that’s the only sure fire thing I’m rooting for.

You gotta wonder how their fan base would enjoy snow and subfreezing temperatures.

Last year from memory Clemson, the SMU to get the ACC bid when they were not worthy
I could also see either SC upsetting OR this weekend, OR Missouri beating OK. Both would be decent outcomes.
I keep hearing talking heads saying ND needs to join a conference. If you look at all this nonsense, the championship games and existing conferences just need to go away.
2 teams play for the title. It’s an extra game they don’t need. Most are in anyway. So it’s a money grab.
In the next few weeks
Miami may lose 1 or 2 more games
Someone ahead of us is going to lose and change the whole scenario. We need to win out and watch.
