The critical thing is that the committee directly compared ND & Miami this round ...
and still placed ND ahead. In other words, as per its governing protocol, the committee didn't treat head-to-head as determinative. The committee was required to consider it by the protocol, but obviously -- and rightly -- contextualized it with other factors.
