difference between his next job and the $52 Million. So, if Penn State pays him $40 Million over the next few years, LSU is only on the hook for $12M
all over again. Putting together an over-the-top package to lure a completely over-rated coach to that job.
Musta been Ole Miss's demolition of that powerhouse Washington St team that convinced the powers that be at LSU that Lane's the must get coach that Lane thinks he is.
Example #2716 of why the poorest state's in this country remain the poorest state's in this country. The corrupt leading the stupid.

"LSU has its affairs in order"....maybe literally as life goes down there, but certainly not figuratively as the metaphor is intended. LSU football would appear more like a Chinese fire drill than any orderly and well planned endeavor.
L.S.U. will have to live with the cost of having guaranteed 9 figures to a coach who never won a major bowl. And prospective candidates have seen that they will try to get out of contracts.
As for Kelly, I can't fathom anyone of consequence wanting to hire him now.
He is a proven commodity, and does his best work with lower ranked players. A school such as UCONN, Cal, or Oregon State would probably be willing.
LSU deserves this. Have to lie in the bed they made.

Kelly is an epic loser. But LSU is an org run by selfish, unethical people as well - it is no surprise that they tried to back out of their promise.
