He has an obligation to mitigate damages (unlike Charlie W’s ND contract). So, LSU only pays the
difference between his next job and the $52 Million. So, if Penn State pays him $40 Million over the next few years, LSU is only on the hook for $12M
The funniest part about all of this is they are in the process of making the same mistake

"LSU has its affairs in order"....maybe literally as life goes down there, but certainly not figuratively as the metaphor is intended. LSU football would appear more like a Chinese fire drill than any orderly and well planned endeavor.

He is a proven commodity, and does his best work with lower ranked players. A school such as UCONN, Cal, or Oregon State would probably be willing.
