As I see it (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong):
In:
B1G
Ohio State
Indiana
Oregon
SEC
Texas A&M
Georgia
Alabama
Mississippi
Oklahoma
ACC
Champion only
Big 12
Texas Tech
Group of 5
Best
That's 11 teams, leaving only room for Notre Dame
Yes, I know Notre Dame is ranked ahead of Alabama...right now. I just don't see how the committee leaves them out for a second straight year, even though that's not supposed to factor in. But remember, we're talking a heavy SEC bias here.
If Texas beats Texas A&M, that well could leave the Irish out in the cold. That would give Texas a second good win. Now, I don't think the committee will, nor should they for the following reasons:
- Notre Dame's opening loss to Miami wasn't basically even with the same team or scheme we see now.
- Texas got crushed by Georgia, something I don't see happening to Notre Dame.
- Notre Dame's victory over Arkansas was much more impressive.
- Texas lost to a mediocre Florida; Notre Dame lost to two highly-ranked teams.
- Computer rankings all love the Irish, and supposedly they're unbiased.

Upsets will be plentiful.

Last week’s trouncing of Syracuse is old news. Playing late Saturday night @ Stanford needs to be managed well.
The Irish have two losses. The committee will do what it does.
The only thing on Notre Dame’s mind should be Stanford.

There are some disaster scenarios where it won’t matter and ND will be left out no matter how much the committee likes them but there are also some scenarios out there where the committee could be in a position to flip on ND.
ND could use one of Oregon, OU, Miss, TT, or Bama to lose. Which it’s more likely that one loses than all of them win.
