The coordinators call the plays. The playbooks are still there. The players won't change. No reason to downgrade the team.

They would likely discount their ability to win if they lost their starting QB, so why not the coach

It is included in the protocol that the commitee can lower a team's ranking if a coach leaves
before the playoffs. I don't see it happening, but they could.

Because the QB is on the field taking every offensive snap. The assistant coaches can run practice,
prep the team and call the game just fine (and better in some cases) without the head coach.
