After looking at the scenarios, I'm not as confident about ND in the playoff.

I said earlier guaranteed teams in (although I'm removing Alabama here):

B1G
Ohio State
Indiana
Oregon

SEC
Texas A&M
Georgia
Mississippi
Oklahoma

ACC
Champion only

Big 12
Texas Tech

Group of 5
Best

That's 10 teams, no question. However, the potential scenarios we have now include Alabama in the SEC championship game if they beat Auburn (very likely) and winning the SEC; Texas Tech getting upset in the Big 12 championship game, and Michigan beating Ohio State and then winning the B1G championship game.

That's 13 teams ahead of ND when we can only afford 11, and this doesn't even count Texas if they beat A&M tonight. We can't afford anything goofy to happen.

Allstate playoff predictor has us at 96% if we beat Stanford. TCB.

Can’t allow a BC and need to not let up.

I guess I'm worried about the 4% , although I think it's higher than that

As long as UM doesn’t beat OSU, I think we’re in. Bama will jump us, and we’ll be 10.

With Stanford’s D stout against the run, I hope MF & Denbrock don’t keep feeding JL

especially if the run is not there, in an effort to pump his stats for the Hesiman. And in the meantime, ND squanders opportunities to put points up by way of the pass. With all the talk of Miami/ND and the CFP, ND needs to blow the bulbs out on the scoreboard.

Use the pass to setup the run. Stanford pass D ain’t great.

And ND not playing in a conference championship this year might actually matter.
