I hate to say it, but you gotta put Texas in over Notre Dame

Two victories over top-10 teams (not counting Vanderbilt) and beating a common opponent we lost to. If you say the loss to Florida was bad, so was ours against Northern Illinois.

2-2 against the top 10 is good enough to overcome the Florida loss.

And Texas has 3 losses. Another hard news item you prolly weren't aware of. Apologies.

My obvious point is a bad loss might not matter to the committee if there are good wins

Losing to a team that Texas beat.

Ultimately, I think the committee takes early-season games with a grain of salt... hopefully. Because clearly right now ND is one of the five best.

You do realize that Texas has the worst loss in the current CFP top 25, right?

The only one remotely comparable is Arizona St to Mississippi St, and their time in the top 25 will be over in less than 2 minutes. To go above ND they would also have to go above Miami, and if Miami wins tomorrow, that is also going to be a tough sell considering Miami easily beat Florida just a few weeks before Texas lost to Florida. Florida has THREE wins so far, to a average FCS team, a 2-pt home win vs Mississippi St, which is 1-7 in conference.....and Texas.

Texas has shiny wins, better than ND. They will easily be the highest ranked 3-loss team. But they have an anchor of a loss, a beatdown from Georgia, and that is what will ultimately hold them back behind ND.

The loss to NIU doesn't mean anything this season.

But if you want to mention it, it was the only loss for ND last year, Texas has 3 this season

legs. He made five backbreaking first downs by using his legs including the TD.. I have always told you guys that the plays that the QB makes with his legs kill a defense more than with his arm. I am not saying that passing is not important or that you cannot win with it but the legs plays by the QBs are the ones that kill a defense and sometimes allow a lesser overall team to beat a better team.

I also say if Reed does not go down for that one play and he ends up leading his team to the end zone instead of running a shit play and then having the kicker mishit a short field goal, the wind might have been taken out of Texas' sales.
