Given our struggles at least the XP thing has settled down
No field goal attempts since Oct 11 I think. Hard to win tight games without FGs but the freshman looks serviceable moving forward.

His kicks although thru the uprights have been erratic.10+yds. back some would have missed.
I think the coaches have noticed this and that's why they are reluctant to try fg's.

It’s an odd situation. Schmidt was one of the best kickers..:
in the last recruiting cycle.

Think the initial problem was, they were splitting too many practice reps between kickers.
They'll get him straightened out in due time now that he's the dude.
Kids got a huge leg (hence the high recruiting ranking) he needs to learn how to be an efficient, consistent kicker now. Stop trying to kick the snot out of the ball every time.

Very few XP misses lose games. FGs? Way more. I noticed the erratic kicks also.
