But only thing stopping it is that TT is ranked 4th and has a bye, I don’t think they would give that up.
Currently, Texas Tech is in a position to get a bye or at the very least host a playoff game if they win. Why in the world would they jeopardize that just to get BYU in? If they lose there is always the possibility that they end up #9 or worse and lose the home game. I don't know the financial aspect of hosting whether or not they have to share the profits with the league but I don't imagine they have to. They stand to make much more money hosting a home game than the few thousand they would get for their share of BYU getting in. Whatever their seating capacity is times at least a couple hundred a ticket, plus parking fees, plus concessions, plus merchandize. So, either win and get a bye or host a playoff game or lose and possibly have to travel for a playoff game. If you are the coach and AD are you going to take that risk? That would be pure lunacy.

I said get a bye OR host a playoff game.
TT at the 5 or 6 seed will have a “bye”…….
TT drops to a 7+ seed they are going to run into a team they don’t want to play.
TT is gonna try to win this game by 100.
