- Terrible offensive game plan against Miami
- Tyler Buchner fumbling the PAT snap
- Blatant hold not called on A&M's last TD when Marcel Reed would almost certainly have been sacked
- Alabama unjustly moved ahead of ND for barely winning a game they were supposed to win easily
- (Potential) BYU winning
I'm not even convinced, if BYU loses, that the committee won't jump Miami over Notre Dame, which would be a joke. If Miami's not good enough to be ahead of them now, why would they be good enough to move ahead of them next week?
(no message)
flipping ND and Alabama? Perhaps they should have been above ND all along, but what exactly happened over the weekend to suggest Alabama was suddenly better than ND, especially considering Alabama's worse loss, and arguably the worst loss from a P4 team, was made even more damning when that opponent got their asses kicked again? And one step further, since only ND has an opponent playing this weekend (Boise St), would them losing in a conference championship game really be enough to suddenly move a Miami over ND that they are currently behind, and have been for every poll? And if Boise St wins, how then could you still justify Miami moving above them at the last possible moment? Are they going to go to the opponents' opponents record to justify it, BCS style?
But as an independent we can’t afford to lose 2 games. Plain and simple.
As a committee rep was trying to explain the reasoning, you just want to ask the guy if he's hearing himself talk. The plan is to safeguard Bama into the playoffs and in their minds, let BYU settle the ND/ Miami debate. Their work is finished. And the answer to the question if the 12 best teams are in the playoffs will be a resounding no if this scenario plays out.
His answer on them jumping us was indefensible
The committee makes sure of that. Reasoning is idiotic. These auto bids have to go for starters. If head to head counts, then count it from the start and not the last ranking. This is unbelievable that ND has to depend on others so we can make this playoff because we couldn't take care of business ourselves to open the season.
