Greed is not a virtue..and these universities that have tried to monopolize all the revenue sources available to the sport will pay....and I would purport are paying for their greed. Unfortunately, they are paid for wisdom and long term judgement...but instead their decisions are as mundane and subordinate to human weakness. The result as we have seen over the past handful of years is the slow demise of a wonderful pass time, source of entertainment, and passion.

Conferences of more than 8 or 10 teams can NEVER produce an equitable champion. That requires inequitable champions and others that they must prop up with efforts that have no business being made. The other fact that bother me is that the committee who is responsible for choosing the participants in the playoff. I highly doubt if any of the can truthfully testify that they have watched every game, every play, of the teams involved. Yet should that not be required? I think so.

The point is as long as these super power conferences exist as mega-conferences, the whole thing will slowly side into the sea of I could hardly care less.

Yes, expand the playoffs to 64 and all the controversy will end. That seems to be where they are going anyway.

Also, the NIL will lead to the demise of college football in my opinion.
