I'm old and not that smart I guess, but I still can't figure out in what universe a 3 loss Alabama team gets selected over a 2 loss ND team (other than the bitching and influence of the Alabama boosters, the SEC Conference, and of course ESPN! Oh and the ACC conference channel playing the replay of the ND vs Miami game over-and-over for 48 hours while the selection committee worked was an obvious attempt to get their message across. Meanwhile - ND said NOTHING while this was going on)).
My understanding is that the ND football team basically said "We play for the National Championship so anything less (when we rightfully should have had a shot in the CFP) is worthless!
Well my feeling is if the Irish aren't good enough for the CFP, then neither is my viewership of the CFP. So, in solidarity with the Irish football team, I will NOT be watching any of the CFP games. (I wish we could have/sign a nation-wide petition and send it to ESPN/ABC with a million plus names telling them, and more importantly - their advertisers, that they won't be reaching as many people as they planned with their commercials. I can read and see the scores later. I also hear that there are other teams which have decided NOT to go to bowls. Maybe the fans of those teams would also sign a nation wide petition for change because this current system is a bust.
Bottom line, the ONLY thing that ESPN/ABC really care about is viewership. That's how they sell their advertisers and pay the teams and conferences. Take a couple of million people out of the viewership and advertisers can demand money back. If enough people don't watch, and they know about it and why, that's really the only thing we can do (as fans).
Well, that's my 2 cents so go ahead and throw your empty's!!!
