I’m seeing a lot of reports that ND is heading out of ACC. Announcement by end of January.
Who knows if it’s true or not at this point. It wouldn’t shock me at all. But I do think we have/had a pretty good fit in the ACC (academics, hoops, soccer, Lax, etc)

The ACC is no fit.
Academics? Does ND have a lot in common with NC State? Florida State?
It certainly pales in comparison to the BE for hoops. ND thrives playing tough basketball, not the pansy ACC style of play. The ACC tournament is trash compared to MSG.
The other olympic sports simply do not matter.
Lastly, the fit for football is the worst. No reason to delve into that, that's what's driving this divorce.

While some of the football is down now, VT, FSU, Clemson, Miami, and others are generally pretty decent programs.
You never know, but the ACC didn’t like Pete calling out their BS
But that seems a little rash especially in the middle of the academic year.
It obviously wouldn't be effective immediately.
2026/2027 would be the soonest they could move.
Wouldn’t the Irish need a conference landing spot for all other sports?

The ACC has been a horrible football fit for us -by that, I mean that ND plays football and
90% of the ACC does not really.
