Notre Dame was out regardless.

Does anyone honestly believe the ACC campaign actually influenced the committee's final vote?

I believe UVA's loss - and the potential that the ACC would be left out entirely - sealed ND's fate

More than the ACC's/Miami's campaign. The head to head loss to Miami in week 1 was just the excuse.

I still firmly believe that ND was going to be in the playoff before Miami until the ACC shit the bed with their tiebreaker, forcing the doomsday scenario to become a possibility. Once in became a reality, they really had no choice but to flip Miami and ND. Could I be wrong and what Dan Patrick's source told him is what actually was happening? Sure, but I honestly don't think the committee wanted Miami in the playoff. They are nowhere near the TV draw that ND is and their fanbase doesn't travel as well as the ND fanbase.

ND was screwed indirectly by Miami/the ACC, but that only came about because the committee was too chickenshit to move Alabama out, and if you do that, you can still finally move ND about Miami. A few people might have questioned moving Miami above ND, but it wouldn't have mattered because both would be in the field.

Yuracheck said he told committee to rewatch ND-Miami. Rewatching appears as a deciding factor.

So, had they not re-watched the game, ND had a better chance? You can't honestly believe that.

Pretty much everyone here, I would guess. Wasn't just the ACC though.

It was ESPN, and it was the SEC (for Alabama).

They wanted to save the ACC, and they promoted Alabama in an unprecedented way.

No other legitimate way to explain their final vote.

You think the process was fair?

Once ESPN started the "head to head put Miami ahead" during championship games, you knew it was over

But to your point, I think it was the collective effort that drove the outcome.

Imposing corporate abuse, neglect and greed on deserving victims.
