1. Eliminate the Meaningless Gnome Alaska Automotive Parts Bowls that no one wants to watch.
2. All teams in FBS outside the 4 Power Conferences are eligible for a secondary national title to be called whatever makes sense.
3. Invite 16 of those top rated teams in order to compete in a playoff using secondary major bowl sites that have traditional shown to draw eyes and that teams want to visit
4. Take the top 16 rated teams to play for the national title and the top 16 of bullet point 3 to play for a whatever makes sense title.
This eliminates the farce of today's blunder set up by the 2025 committee which proves, at least to me, that any committee is subject to bias, poor judgement, ignorance, and even corruption. Sure, all the members of this year's committee will swear they are completely free of such errors, but all, even you and me, are ingrained with those fallacies to some degree, however slight. Inviting one or two non-power four teams to serve as martyrs every year is a huge mistake and serves no purpose.
I don't know about anyone else but I watch the FCS playoffs every year as long as the games are competitive. Those kids may be a step below Ohio State and Georgia in talent and size, but they play with the same focus and energy...and in many cases are of equal competence in many ways as NFL rosters prove.
Bottom line is that I think far more would find interest in watching Tulane play JMU for a national title than watching them get man-handled as they did today. And they can still play for it all if they are good enough.
