Wouldn’t USC have been under a contract to play Notre Dame in 2026?

At some point NBC will demand marquee games.

They had to put the Navy game on prime time in November. Clemson or Miami will give them one compelling game per year, provided Dabo has anything left in the tank.

At some point, they will have to stream the B1G on Peacock if they ever want to get it off the ground. Can you imagine the numbers from the NC State game this year?

A winning ND is great, but how long will they pay for games that are over at half time?

NBC will force the move to the B1G.

They are going to “evolve” into a product that fewer and fewer are interested in…

For USC it’s the IU recipe: soft schedule, good record, playoff bid.

Sadly, this will be followed by most, if not all big schools.

The regular season like college hoops is likely dead. Schedule as many wins as possible. Cash checks.

Just my 2 cents, as always I could be wrong.

What team has 2 wins as good or better than IU, Neither tOSU or Oregon was at home.

That’s why they are the top seed. Will see how it works out. Their QB is playing great.

I think the price for experienced transfer portal QBs goes up with every pass he throws.

But for Oregon and Ohio State, IU's schedule was utter crap

However, they won impressively in their two really big games and are rightfully lauded for their performance.

I don’t disagree with anything you say I would add a few things:

The conferences are so big, nobody plays anyone. They have 1-3 name teams on their schedules, and some opponents like Penn State may have a down year or year in transition.

It’s tough to tell who’s good under the current format. Every team pretty much plays mostly cupcakes.

To IU’s credit in this new age of college football, when you can make the final score as lopsided as possible, do it. That’s the world we live in.

Just my 2 cents, as always I could be wrong

Other than Texas A & M and Miami, ND’s schedule was not very interesting/challenging

It shouldn’t be now. The goal is the playoffs. Schedule needs to optimize getting you in.

This year’s schedule was OK for that…other than being front-loaded AND then screwing up the beginning.

Was not quite strong enough to overcoming the opening two losses PLUS a crooked committee.

You want your schedule JUST strong enough to both maximize wins and impress a committee that is in ESPN and the SEC’s hip pockets…

Shame what College Football has become and is further becoming….

That’s my point good teams don’t want to play too good teams in the regular season.

Take a look at IU’s nonconfernce schedule. It’s a joke they scheduled wins/body bag games

They aren’t to be commended for that, but they will be copied for that.

ND would play these teams, they don’t want to play us.

They want an easy path as possible to 10-2, and a possible playoff birth.

When the next big scandal, probably gambling, hits College Football, USC will be right in the center of it; as they have been in all recent such events from cheating officials (60's) to academic standards (90's).

Lots of tremdous memories, players, coaches, and games in this rivalry series. The landscape of modern college football will take some getting used, if that's even possible.

We’ll play them in the CFP. Eff them otherwise.
