My dad was a 1947 graduate at age 26 because WW II intervened. He loved IU basketball especially but always followed the football team, too.
Think about it. Two years ago IU football was its same terrible self, one of the worst programs in college football history. Today they're undefeated and ranked #1. This is easily one of the best and most remarkable stories in sports history.
Their legendary play-by-play man Don Fisher has seen a lot of bad football in his 53 years of announcing. I'm happy for him and my dad, who would be 104 if he were still around today.
Nothing to be proud of…

When you have the largest living alumni base, many of which stay in the state, rich alumni who are invested, and a great business schools that has a lot of upper middle class willing to donate it is a program that likely isn’t going anywhere for awhile.

kids in the portal. Looking at how hit and miss other teams are, it's remarkable the kids he's brought in and how he has them playing at such a high level.
Of course, only playing a couple of good teams a season certainly helps keep those kids healthy and fresh. The next few weeks should show how good their depth is, if they make it past Bama.
ND was awful, I never once followed IU football because they were ALWAYS awful. No, I never waited for the football season to end so that I could watch IU Basketball. They were typically pretty decent but I could not stomach the likes of Bob Knight and the horrible way he treated his players, coaches, staff and administration. He was always right but NEVER wrong. These last two years I have been following Cig and the boys closely. I believe they are a legitimate threat to beat tOSU and I think they will. Shock the world-----AGAIN.IU is the only reason I'll be watching playoff football.
impressive and you have to give them credit. We all say it all the time. Yes you need the players but never underestimate great coaching.

I support the Indiana Hoosiers just as I would Purdue, Ball State, Butler, DePauw or any other program representing the state. None of this has anything to do with ND.
