It was there against Texas, but Texas had their own OL/QB issues and couldn’t capitalize at that time of the year.
When the finally played teams that could expose those issues, they lost. Defense was good enough to keep the games close but the offense was never good enough to be the “it is OSU and then everyone else for the championship” narrative all year.
