over the past two 12 team playoffs, but there are two more chances. Sure does give an indication that there is either a disadvantage in sitting out over two weeks or the rating committee is not very competent. Or both. Indiana will have a challenge but I have to think Ga. will handle Ole Miss. If not, there is strong evidence that the bye is a curse.

The evidence is that the committee overvalued the "competition" the teams played. As..

Opposed to the eye test and talent. Though I think Georgia will handle business. And I won't be surprised to see Bama handle an overrated Hoosier team. Personally I think Miami and Texas A&M were top 4 teams of the 12 that got in.
