Indiana has an interesting portal model. They are getting a lot of later career college guys, a good number of whom won’t go pro or if they do, will do so in very late rounds or as UDFA, but who are basically college journeymen. Different but works for them.

Guaranteed Indiana is the healthiest and freshest team in the country come playoff time next year, just like this year.
Starting off with 3 FCS teams (again), 1 tough game against OSU and 9 home games. How any fan can thump their chest at how great their team is with that schedule is embarrassing. Completely unwatchable.

Cignetti is just running textbook what he learned at Alabama. Have a solid list of intangibles that translate to quality players willing to commit to a winning system. Only select kids that fit all of the required list of measurables regardless of what recruiting ranking services say. Sound teams and strong teams are built on quality across the board more than they are the sizzle that writes all the commercials and articles.

My hope is that we’re all in on 26 and we’d rather spend the Burnham $ on a plan the upsizes and skills the DL and likewise other positions. In support: the recent DL coach hire and Marcus extension.
The cynic in me thinks we may have been asleep at the wheel since this seems orchestrated. We also lost the MSU receiver to Indiana.
I’m keeping my powder dry until I see what happens with some of these transfers we’re bringing in.
