but it could be an achilles heel for this team.
4 stars almost across the board for ALL position groups with a sprinkling of 5 stars, except the DT group.
The DT have a 3 star average until the 2026 class. Besides Onye (who may not be able to play), there is not a returning DT that showed he can play at a PLAYOFF level. I know the coaches expect a lot from Mukam, and Mullins/Hughes played well at times, but it a significant drop off from the elite level of the other def position groups. I am hoping for GRAY to transfer in from Oregon and that he and Brewu can be the elite players we are missing. Hughes, Mullins, Mukam, others can then be role players.... and that is our best chance moving forward.

Never understood how they kept taking these projects at DT as if we were loaded like 'Bama or some of the great LSU or Texas DLs from recent times. The biggest recruit has yet to see the field and the lowest rated guys are starting and just don't have much upside, we've got to capitalize and start landing some of these guys in the top 150.

or is that too disruptive to the RB room, or too expensive, or out of reach do you think?
Nolan James just looks small and not exceptional speed to me (hope I'm wrong, but...), and we don't know how fully back Kedron Young will be from his knee injury, and no matter how good they are, the others are true freshman - even Jeremiyah Love wasn't ready to star as a freshman over quality back s ahead of him.
Williams is a stud, and I'm hopeful one of the pups behinds him grabs that RB2 spot soon.
Seider only plays 2 backs.
He didn't have mny carries to go around the last couple of years with Singleton and Allen running the show and combining for 350-400 carries a season and the QBs running another 125+ times a season. Seider is also accustomed to having mobile QBs who can run the ball in his offenses.

I also wouldn't be opposed to bringing back Dylan Edwards who would bring a combination of home run explosiveness and experience to the room. He's versatile and can be used like Love in both the run/pass game with an added bonus as a return man. His only problem has been durability and if we use a RB by committee approach it would help keep him and the other backs fresh. Wayne Knight from JMU and Chris Johnson Jr both would've been good options as well but it seems Knight wanted to be in a "featured" role, and Johnson wanted to get back to the South.
