Retention/Portal
Would be interesting to see a retention ranking, since N.D. lost very little on the two deep to the portal. This has not been emphasized enough the job that the staff did on this. As for the portal, is the new flexibility in taking guys in the portal with multiple years left a response from N.D. getting left out of the playoffs and thus losing millions, or is it becuase the administration is fully bought in to Freeman's authenticity and culture that he has displayed, or a little of both.
Asking, because I don't see them being that flexible with Brian Kelly as he was not nearly as well liked and respected by the instituion. I was also thinking maybe Freeman wanted a bit more flexibility in some of these areas to make it more attractive to stay and stop the courting from the N.F.L.

I fully expect that they are changing the metric of how graduation rates are being calculated in…

…if they haven’t done so already…
I would like to see them include on the graduation rates those players that come back and get their
degrees. To me that is much more indicative of which players really care and value the education.
