A Super Bowl contending team isn't going to hire an OC who doesn't have pro experience.
They need a serious upgrade at OC.
People will start to kick the tires on Jr. as his college offenses continue to produce. He'll be back in the NFL within 5 years.
so calling it 'being back' is a bit obtuse.
I have no doubt that Weis will be in the NFL if he wants to. But he needs to shed his obeisance to Kiffen (unless Kiffen goes to the NFL) to have any credibility as a NFL OC. I appreciate his ties to Kiffen as a mentor but that isn't going to get you anywhere in the NFL. The fact that he could run his own offense at Mississippi as opposed to looking like a Kiffen lap dog shows his lack of confidence in operating on his own. The same thing was/is true about Rees who has progressed nowhere absent his dependence on Kelly as a "mentor."
My point was the notion that Weis is being considered as an OC for the Eagles is patently absurd and a product of talk radio's need to fill air time.
