You HAVE to take into account how well a team is playing and how good they are at the end of the season much more than the committee is currently doing. And conversely as further evidence, at the end of the season Alabama was clearly not what they were in the middle of the season.

I'm not even sure if the Cane faithful outdrew the IU fans in Miami's home turf. Yet, I heard several times that Miami football is back. Are they back or is this even more ESPN spin?

year DC, Corey Hetherman, and rode his defense to the NC game. Can they keep him? If not, can they replace him with someone as good? I doubt it. Without that kind of defense, you're relying on 2per Mario Cristobal, a great talent accumulator and waster. Good luck.

You can lose conference title game plus two regular season games and still get in. If I remember, it took some last minute wheeling and dealing for ESPN/ACC/SEC to get both Canes and Tide in the playoffs plus a million dollars worth of PR by the ACC Network / ESPN to prove Miami was worthy. They got to national title game but so did TCU a few short years ago. . One year under these circumstances makes not a yearly contender. I remember when Joe Tess loudly proclaimed that Texas was back on their way to a 5-7 season. Just my opinion.
