ND in if ranked in top 12. Auto bids for ACC, Big10, Big12, & SEC. No Group of 5 mentioned. So, basically, 3 and 4 legit teams to win it all and the rest are just filling up space. Committee can drop Irish to 13th at the last minute and still find a way to get 3 loss Bama in by ranking them in the top 12. A Duke would get an auto bid. They didn't address that of course. MF was way more mild mannered the other night then I would have ever been. Our 2 loss excuse doesn't wash when it doesn't apply to an SEC favorite son. These brainiacs still want to make it about Miami, a 2 loss team.. So the implication here is for ND to win every single game. as to not give the committee and media an excuse. Not possible. Not reasonable.

Truth is, the playoffs will never be fair until all auto bids are done away with.
Just rank the teams 1 thru whatever and take the top 12 teams. Better yet, top 8 or 16 teams with no byes. Do away with auto bids for the conferences, as well as the new auto bid for ND. First round games on campus of higher seed, and then play out the rest with or without the silly bowl tie-ins.
That makes waaay too much sense.
