The schedule justifications are dumb.

MSU was good 5 years ago? Give me a break.

And the fact that schedules have to be made in advance doesn’t change the fact that the schedules sucks.

Why do so few realize that ND wants to play better teams but can’t.

There is a boycott by the Big 10 and the SEC against ND. They will not schedule ND in October and November. This has been an ongoing thing since the 1920s, and it has nothing to do with the teams not wanting to interrupt their conference schedules. Their motive has always been to prevent ND from being successful. Sure there have been exceptions, like Alabama in 1976 and 1987, and Ohio State on 1995 and 1996, and LSU a Tenn a couple of times, but they are few and far between. And ND had to pull teeth and give financial incentives to make these few games happen.

And now, with the bigger TV contract money, the conference cartels want to suck the life out of ND by forcing us into the Big 10 or a super-conference under less than favorable TV revenue sharing. That’s the real reason USC backed out of renewing ND.

I bet the series with Florida will be cancelled or moved to September, and it is the only SEC or Big 10 games in Oct-Nov on the schedule for the next several years. The contract with the ACC was Swarbricks response to this, but the best response would be a lawsuit claiming Anti-Trust violations.

100% agree. Syracuse and Purdue have to be better, can’t be worse. But assuming teams

Like North Carolina and MSU bounce back is a joke.

Let’s hope byu, smu. Miami and Wisconsin are all pretty good. If it’s only Miami, the schedule will come to down to winning or losing Miami game to prove we deserve the playoffs.

I am assuming BYU and smu will be fringe top 25 teams and Wisconsin stinks.

It’s moronic that people use this bullshit argument that the schedule was made 8-10 years ago.

Who the hell cares? Do you think the selection committee cares?

It’s a weak as shit schedule except for Miami and who knows if Miami will stay strong.

We don't know how good any of our opponents are going to turn out to be, even now.

Preseason 2025 - PSU was #2, Clemson #4
Indiana #20, TTU #23, BYU unranked. Et cetera...

Wisconsin Miami SMU BYU are legit programs at this time.
They may disappoint. Others will rise to the occasion. Others will shit the bed. Most schools have similar schedules. There are 140? Teams and everyone gets to play 13 ish
2 years ago, ND played Indiana, OSU, A&M, USC, Penn State, Georgia that was epic + legit

A few years ago scheduling Indiana for the 24/25 season would be considered a joke. Next years
