- My mom was a waitress at the Plymouth Holiday Inn where the team stayed on Friday nights. He was doing a bed check and walking around to each room, saw me and we waved at each other.
- Shared a flight with him from Indy to South Bend. In the boarding area an older guy with gray hair came up to him and explained he was a CURRENT student at Notre Dame. Lou praised him and couldn't have been nicer.
- Asked him a question on his SiriusXM golf show.
A class act is an understatement.
Amazing coach and an amazing personality.

Clobbered Rutgers like 66-0, got his 100th win, and then had a stand brought at game’s end in the end zone, to address the students. Classy salute to a student body that always has Lou’s back.
We will not see his like again.

"Don't tell people your problems."
"90% don't care and the other 10% are glad you got 'em."
Classic Lou.
Hope he's in good hands.

proved that determination, common sense and great family values determine your overall outcome more than intelliogence.

me up. It could've just as easily been Columbo telling some haughty killer, "Oh, one more thing..."
finishing last in his class, til the principal said it was a rather dumb class overall.
Classic Lou
The first time at a speaking engagement he headlined and once at Notre Dame. Tom McMahon, DB coach under Holtz in Lou’s last year, invited me to come in the coach’s office if I was in the area. I took him up on the offer and I got to see Lou. I actually got a picture with me sitting behind his desk. Great man, kind, very intelligent, and he meant what he said. Prayers
a ton of quotes that were great and his Do Right video was off the charts awesome.
