I get the sentiment. The scandals are relevant.
But what message does it really send to anybody.
He’ll still get in.
He was caught cheating by media sources three times, likely more by the NFL and as with crooks, you are lucky to see 10% of what they do. Roger swept all that under the rug over and over again. If it wasn’t impacting outcomes, why was he doing it? If it wasn’t impacting, or really even if it wasn’t it was cheating…and not by accident and not one time. It was a career of such behavior.
Sure he was a good coach, but if he doesn’t make half the SBs he was in and looses one or two more of those he was in….no one would consider him the goat or be concerned he wasn’t first ballot. Heck the steroid users in bb are being held out of cooperstown. At least he will eventually be admitted…..sadly.

reasons.
Seriously, there are so many players put in there that don't deserve it. Even Cooperstown is inducting guys who don't deserve it, and that used to be the only hall of fame worth a warm bucket of spit.

It's like hating on USC while checking out the Song Girls.
She's a nothingburger, in every way.
He wasn't voted in because he hated the press, and they hated him.
She might be fun for a night...
...but even from this distance she bugs the shit out of me.

Again, USC. Hate the colors, hate OJ, hate that damn horse, hate the band even more, hate that "Fight On" song. Love the Song Girls.

Given his "success", if he was that admired and respected across the league, he would have been in on his first ballot. He just isn't. He is paying the price for his arrogance.
NE has always had very good player development types who are now scattered around the league as successful GMs. Belichick never really acknowledged their contribution to "his" -- really NE's overall success -- and lots of these folks resent it. You add the incessant cheating by NE and you have what I will call the "Ron Santo" effect. A guy who, by the numbers, should have been in the HOF but only got there after his death because he treated lots of people like shit.
The fact that no one wants him as their head coach even in the current dearth of good candidates further demonstrates that he isn't respected in NFL circles.
