I have always wondered why offensive tackles retreat to set up the angle to block quick pass rushers

and leave themselves so exposed to getting overpowered bercause of that retreat move. I always thought they should engage first because they would get the jump at the snap, have a physical advantage, and then retreat for the angle leverage, after at least giving a physiical engagement..
