Although i am partial to Ara, I'm not sure he was a better coach. Lou's schedules were much harder than
Aras and he had a better record against ranked teams too. I almost hate to say it.

I’m ok flipping them-Lou did really win 2 more NC’s anyways
For those wondering…’90 was a NC robbed by an egregious phantom clip called on Rockets punt return w no time left,
and of course, 1993 where “head to head” no longer mattered as it did in 1989 (or in 2025) so that they could give Bowden a lifetime achievement award.
Both Lou and Ara were great coaches, and even better people.
