I expect Alabama to follow suit.
Your move, Pete.

...it doesn't sound good.
Time for Pete to earn his keep. And for god's sake, shut the fuck up about expanding the playoff to 24 teams.
He had better be calling the B12 about now.

path to a MAC level schedule requiring an undefeated season every year, even that may not be enough. I am supportive of a super conference apart from the NCAA.
They tried to get this started with European soccer a couple years ago and it got shot down by the sport's governing bodies and the vast majority of the fans.
I can foresee a tremendous uproar in this country if our elite teams tried to exclude the vast majority.
I don't feel it's politically viable.

and then another set of schools that essentially are set up as club teams. How players go back and forth is to be determined. The super conference will be set up in leagues and will be very much like the NFL. I do think something more like European soccer would work better, but there is no way the powers will share the revenue with the smaller teams.
The public outcry from fans whose teams would be relegated to club programs will be too overwhelming for politicians not to step in..
It's already in the legislative agenda.

They have not blackballed us like the others and their demographics are very favorable,
We'd own the eastern market and it works our well for so many of our sports.

I'd rather return to playing our real rivals (SC, Michigan, MSU, Purdue, PSU) on a yearly basis.
The ACC is a garbage football conference.
Oh! And she's probably put on weight, has grey hair and wrinkled skin.
The Big 10 (sic) is a mongrel conference spread all over hell.
Economics favors the South over the Mid West and the West Coast.
I'd rather play Texas, LSU, Alabama, and Florida over the trashy ACC.
The issue is not demographics and visibility... including for recruits.
The SEC is primarily based in the rural South,
I don't care how many eyeballs are in the ACC footprint, no one watches them. That's what matters.
are very attractive draws.
Greed. Power. Money. The adults in the room are killing college football. 12 team playoff is a watered down money making scam. 24 team playoff is even worse. There are only maybe 3 or 4 teams that have a realistic shot at winning it all and one of those realistic teams was left out of the CFP maliciously and intentionally last season. We celebrate our outstanding recruiting class but how many will still be around in 1-2-3 years? Fans are conditioned to not blink an eye at a player who has 3 and 4 other schools under his belt and still playing in college. ESPN, university presidents, ADs, agents, conference officials, CFP committee, boosters, and fans all have a hand in this. I don't know. There's no going back. The adults won't stop at football.
Force our hand one way or another.
