Hopefully things work out for him at ND.

Very much doubt it (see above). Also, we are only in the running for other top LB's at present.
That will hopefully improve, but it does not sound like that was the case when this occurred.
He is a smaller LB (which Bullough always liked), but he is very good, and we need him.
Admittedly, we can go portalling in a few years if we need to, but it's nice not to have to do that.
