Maybe someone with inside info can give the reason. I have heard different things. Maybe a bidding war that ND didn't want to participate in. Also, he has been pretty adamant about playing DE. It's possible that Freeman and Partridge were honest and told him they want him to eventually play inside. He is down to OSU, Texas, and Georgia. I could see those coaches telling him whatever he wants to hear.
He’s probably looking to go three and out.
I wouldn't know if this is the case with this recruit. Anyone who comes to ND for the money won't graduate from ND.
Someone has to be the odd man out.
These kids for taking more money by some on this board has to stop. Not every kid wants to come to ND and guess what…That’s just fine. Plenty of these kids go to other schools and get quality educations and have success in life.
This obsession with if it’s not ND choice then some kid has an issue and we didn’t want him anyway is total bullshit. And has to stop.

not like our culture, and that's OK. Maybe it was his studies. Maybe he saw too much competition ahead of him and wanted to play right away. NEEEEEEEXT!!

It's still relatively early, and there's plenty of time to find others.
It would have been delightful to have him on board, since he looks ready to play from day one as a SDE, or even chip in time as a 3 technique tackle.
I trust Coach Freeman and co. to find high talent guys and equally importantly, to develop them to their full potential.
At this point, though, if the crystal ball for Brayden Parks holds true (Brian Dohn made his prediction), then we'll get our interior D-Lineman who could play either 3 technique tackle or nose tackle.

But we are in a good spot with Sesay if the reports are to be believed. But who knows. OSU has had better history of developing DL but we are definitely improving and guys are noticing.
