During the golden years, we were routinely putting out multiple early draft picks every year.
Looking at those 1987-1990 classes that put guys in the draft, there were quite a few 1st round draft picks, as well as some guys who could have been early round picks if it weren't for injuries or other issues, and a lot who had long NFL careers.
Then you had a lot of players whose athleticism and abilities were off the charts, but got dismissed from the program.
Marcus Freeman is easily the best guy we've had ever since Lou when it comes to recruiting, development, and execution, but he's not at Lou's level just yet.
