CJ Carr getting noticed

I think the last time I saw this much attention being paid to a Notre Dame QB was Brady Quinn. Similar expectations also. I hope CJ can block out the noise.

Gino Guidugli isn't getting the hype he deserves

I won't anoint him the best QB coach in college football, but he's got to be up there.

He is light years ahead of the previous QB coach

The previous guy kept trying to force every one of the QB's to become dink 'n dunk soft tossers, even when it was clear that Wimbush and Buchner could never fit that mold. The only one who did fit his mold was Drew Pyne.

The only reason why there was some success from 2018 through 2021, was that Book and Coan had very high football IQ's, and they basically coached themselves.

Guidugli caters to the strength of each QB, without trying to turn them into something they are not.

He'll still shore up their weaknesses (Riley Leonard became a better passer as the season went on), but at least he didn't try to make Riley Leonard into a run 'n shoot type QB, and isn't trying to make CJ Carr into a spread option runner.

What a novel idea. Let the guy do what he does naturally well instead of forcing him into your box

Sorry, I still feel lots of anger towards Brian Kelly for the way he treated Dayne Crist

I will never forgive him for forcing Dayne Crist to be a dink and dunker, not taking advantage of that strong arm (he threw amazing frozen ropes downfield), especially with a developed Michael Floyd in the WR corps.

I still have an eternal anger at Kelly for making him run all of those spread-option QB runs, which led to his knee getting shredded.

I absolutely despise the way he threw Crist under the bus after one bad series, while giving Tommy Rees the kid gloves treatment after a lot of boneheaded throws.

My message was supportive. Our QB coach isn’t trying to make QBs fit a mold like Kelly did
