Although, I believe it was mostly documented on another board that I can no longer find. I like where your head is at though. I often call it corporate socialism and have found if you want to trigger Republicans, that's a good term to use.
On this specific note, I'll add that I live in a place that has 4 warring gas stations that have some of the lowest prices in the country and for the last ~9 months. They have all sustained prices that are 20-30 cents/gallon cheaper than any other gas stations in the area. How does this work? How are they able to maintain this pricing when nobody else seems to be able to maintain those prices?
These companies suck at the govt teat, and then enact anti-capitalist price fixing strategies, that's how.
I am frustrated by the subsides, probably more than most. It affects so much of the economic and political landscape, but it's a rock and a hard place. I don't like it, but I've not seen a good answer for what can be done.
