Anecdotally, in the early part of my engineering career, I was tasked with doing "Failure Analysis" studies and ended up being quite successful in resolving them...including one that had a critical defense system halted...I've learned that you don't jump to conclusions...you methodically assess actual data, seek out probable causes...and then test them to PROVE that you got it right...we don't have enough data yet on COVID-19...
