Undermining, bit by bit, the institutions and norms that check the power of the executive, rather than a messy, obvious coup.

That’s the 21-century authoritarian power grab.

It also needs accomplices willing to let it happen. And cheering. Because Mexicans and zygotes and the lib media or whatever.
