US/Israel were up to the attack. The Iranians were surprised at their ineffectiveness.
Another question would be why would Iran be openly broadcasting that this was just a gesture to check boxes? That would undo the point of the gesture which would be to satisfy militant factions who would no longer be satisfied if they knew it was all a game. This is not how radical Islam plays….they are not concerned with gestures. They want blood.

My far bigger worry is how the border chaos has made us vulnerable attack from within. Now, for another photo op.
